Abstract	:	The M.A. Entrance Examination of TEFL held in Islamic Azad University (IAU) has never been scrutinized in terms of its reliability and validity. To this path, the study reported to estimate the reliability and validity of the General English Section of this test administered to the M.A. candidates sitting in 2011 exam of IAU. In doing so, 30 male and female students of B.A program of English translation at IAU (Khorasgan Branch) participated in this study voluntarily. In collecting the data to investigate the reliability of the exam, Consent Form of Participation, Testing Questionnaire, and General English Questions of Entrance Examination of TEFL of Islamic Azad University were used. The method of investigating reliability was based on split-half. To report the reliability results, the provided answers in the exam were corrected based on negative score formula and were also analyzed for mean, standard deviation, and correlation. Later, the reliability was established by Spearman-Brown prophecy formula. In interpreting the R, IF and choice distribution measures were also used. The results showed that in spite of the existence of .89 as the reliability of the whole test, IF and choice distribution analysis proved that R in this test is under question. The results of the validation stage showed that the exam enjoys a very good content validity in the structure section, and a moderate content validity in the rest of the test..
