Abstract	:	This thesis demonstrates the analysis, design and fabrication of a 19 to38GHz MMIC balanced frequency multiplier with a potential for Local MultipointDistribution System (LMDS) applications. The circuit is designed in coplanarwaveguide (CPW) and utilizes planar transitions (CPW to slot) and a T-junction toachieve a balanced topology. In addition, a new class of compact CPWstructures is implemented in the circuit to demonstrate their usefulness. Strongcorrelation is found between the measured and simulated results. The doublercircuit achieves a maximum conversion gain of -10.37dB at an input power of15.52dBm..
