Abstract	:	Shrub community development and management were studied on powerlinecorridors in central New Yorlt State to improve understanding and management ofshrublands. which have high conservation value. yet continue to decline regionally asabandoned agricultural lands revert to forest. Maintaining shrub communities oftenrequires vegetation management restricting tree invasion and growth. Regular. intensivevegetation management to control tall-growing trees using both mechanical and chemicaltreatments on powerline.
