Abstract	:	ivThis Masterبs thesis deals with building experimental setup for characterizationof novel nonlinear optical devices for fiber communication.The first part of the thesis deals with the description of the theoretical basis foroperation of a particular type of such nonlinear optical devices, namely a parametricamplifier. Document includes deriving and solving the equations for parametricamplification in optical fiber when signal, idler and pump beams are linearly copolarized.We consider both non-degenerate and degenerate pump cases for arbitraryphase mismatch.In the second part of the thesis we present the design and experimentalimplementation of electrical interface between commercial ultra-long-haul-system,.............-....,....-...,..tested for theQ1 PC1 bus cardBoth these projects mere sofixare des elopment efforts tonards contributing to dlfferentaspects of Roboucs and lZ1echatronics projects m the Controls and Roboucs Group..
