Abstract : This thesis proposes a novel method for the optimal co-design of the optical andreconstruction طlters in a computational imaging system. An optical system with no physicalconstraints is considered, and then increasing levels of constraints are applied to the opticalطlter to make it physically realizable. Analytical solutions are presented for the designof optimal observation طlter and optimal reconstruction طlter. An iterative method forcomputing global optimal طlters is then employed to reconطrm the derived analytical closedform solutions. Numerical simulations are presented which indicate the performance of ourdesign methodology.
