Abstract : The aim of this work is to use distributed computing nodes and/or distributedFPGA based SOC embedded systems for multi-sensor LADAR image datafusion, registration and recognition. The thesis consists of three fundamentalparts. The first phase of the work consists of designing and implementing a testbed for graphically representing and visualizing image data in a distributedcomputing environment. In particular, we propose and implement acommunication protocol among the distributed nodes. Based on this test-bed, wethen propose and implement data fusion on images obtained fromgeographically distributed multi-sensor systems from distributed computingnodes.
