Abstract
:
Maker fringe patterns of polymeric thin films containing an organic ionic pyryliumsalt dye are presented. Waveguides were fabricated by spin-coating and by the ionic self-assembled monolayer (ISAM) technique. Poling was not required for either technique as thematerial was naturally self-aligning. The theory from Herman and Hayden was used tomodel the Maker fringe data. The ISAM technique is shown to produce optically robustnonlinear optical waveguides with flexible design parameters.
