Abstract	:	Ground-source heat pump systems represent one possible solution toward makingbuildings more energy efficient since a significant portion ofthe energy consumed bythese systems comes from a renewable energy source. Ground-coupled heat pumpsystems are a subset of ground-source heat pump systems that utilize a closed ground-loopmade of polyethylene pipe as a heat exchanger to transfer heat between the ground and aseries of water-source heat pumps located inside a building.
