Abstract : Fuel cells have emerged as an alternative for Building Cooling. Heating, andPower (BCHP) applications. The use of the fuel cells for cogeneration, simultaneoi~slyproducing electricity and heat, as stationary systems for building applications is turninginto a major milestone in their development.In this feasibility study, a grid-independent fuel cell based BCMP system wasevaluated as a alternative for "Green Houses" in Puerto Rico. The system was assess todetermine the energy required to meet the hourly average electric and thermal loads of atypical residential unit in Puerto Rico.
