Abstract	:	DEAN ROBERT EVANSOptical and Electronic Properties of Blue Emitting Electroluminescent Phospho~~(Under the direction of WILLIAM M. DENNIS)SrCaG&:W, SrS:C+, and SrS:Cu+ are three materials that find applicationin eleetmlllminescent flat panel displap. A combination of optical spectrmopic,photoconductivity, and thermolumineecence measurements were used to determinethe mechanisms which can Muence the emiasion in these materials.In particular, the interaction of the emitting center with the trap states, andthe conduction band is considered.
