Abstract : The environmental impact resulting fiom the release of trace elements during coalcombustion is an important issue for the coal-fired electric utility industry. Traceelements exit the combustor by partitioning between the flue gas and the fly ash particles.A comprehensive study has been conducted to investigate the mechanisms governing thepartitioning of trace elements during pulverized coal combustion.
