Abstract	:	A comprehensive Automatic Generation Control (AGC) Simulator has been developed toprovide realistic simulation environment for evaluating different AGC algorithms with respectto NERC's (North American Electric Reliability Council) old control criteria and new controlperformance standards. It can simulate multiple interconnected control areas with netinterchanges among them, with one study control area that consists of ten units of differenttypes and sizes, and other equivalent exkrnal control areas with two units modeled for eacharea. Each control area has its own one-month worth of load data that is based on the actualrecordings provided by major electric utilities of the United States, while the study area's loadalso includes a separate set of non-codonning load (NCL) data.
