Abstract	:	This study investigates an alternative classification algorithm, NEFCLASS, and its abilityto classify remote sensing images. NEFCLASS is a Neuro-h,w System that is capableof generating a set of linguistic rules. These rules allow the user to check and interpret theclassification results. This study also shows that the neural net rules stabilized after only afew training iterations. The land-udland-cover classification result produced byNEFCLASS is compared to the result produced by a conventional classificationalgorithm, Maximum Likelihood Classifier (MLC).
