Abstract	:	One-dimensional analysis of Metal-Insulator-Semiconductor (MIS)transmission lines is carried out by considering the depletion layer width in thesemiconductor as a medium with no conductivity but the permittivity as that ofinsulator. The eiectic field is determined by finding the usually complex transversepropagation constants in the structure. which is done by solving the transcendentalequation for the axial propagation constant. The variation of propagationcharacteristics has been investigated as a function of Frequency. thickness of eachlayer. conductivity, and bias voltage. Equivalent-circuit parameters R. L. G. and C ofMIS transmission lines calculated from exact modal solutions and conventionalmodels are compared.
