Abstract	:	The project manager has much to delikrate when choosing a software package forimage rectificationlregistration. He/she must be able to perform a cost analysis evaluationof the packages in question. and determine which package will provide the highest levelof positional accuracy. Objective and subjective analysis of six software packages.Arcview Image Analysis. GeoMedia Pro, Arcflnfo 8.1, ERMAPPER, ENVI and Idrisi3.2, and their multipte products (polynomials and triangulations) provide the basis withwhich the project manager may attain this goal, Hefshe is familiarized with the userinterfsce of each package, through detailed step-by-step methodology. Positionalaccuracy of each product is compared to Ground Control Points (GCPs) derived fiom aDifferential Global Positioning System (DGPS).
