Abstract : Geochemical data spanning a ten-year period of production (1988 - 1998) were used to examinechanges in the reservoir fluids and test hypotheses on the effects of injectate on the reservoirover time. Geochemical mixing models indicate that only a small return of diluted injectate orother basinal fluid may be returning to the reservoir (< 5 )). Temperature declines ofapproximately 0.5 - 1 "Clyear are indicated across the reservoir by geothermometers. Theprecipitation of minerals that occurred with low percentages of fluid mixing suggests that solution-transport processes such as cementation might affect permeability in some fracture zones.Pressure differences between the north and south production fields are the likely reason for thelack of injectate return to the north production wells in later years with hydraulic heads beinghigher in the north field.
