Abstract	:	The naturally occurring stresses in frameless photovoltaic (PV) modules (calledlaminates) are examined herein. PV modules are being manufactured without framing tolower their cost, but this makes them more vulnerable to weather induced stresses. A finite-element analysis (FEA) program was utilized to examine the effects that environmentalpressure and temperature forces have on unframed PV modules. The effect that impact loadshave on laminates was also investigated.
