Abstract	:	Significant research has been going on in the area of reconfigurable computers.This research could potentially lead to a revolution in the field of mainstream computing.These systems are being developed to serve as an alternative to ASIC (Application-Specific Integrated Circuits) processors. The Piperench is one such reconfigurableprocessor that has been developed at Carnegie Melon University.The Piperench virtualizes hardware, thus enabling large circuits to be run onlimited physical hardware.
