Abstract	:	The purpose of this project is to deveIop the phase shifiers for a small phasedarray antenna in the S band. Instead of the antenna having a gimbaled system for beamsteering, electronic steering will be done, by phase shifters switched with PIN diodes.The system mainly consists of a four element circular microstrip patch m y connectedto 3-bit phase shifters and power divider at a resonant frequency of 2.27 GHz. The 3-bitPIN diode phase shifters will permit to change the phase of the array in a range between0" and 3 25"- This electronic improvement will reduce the cost and physical size of thecomplete system while having the same characteristics that a gimbaled system wouldprovide.
