Abstract	:	The abi1it.y to give a prognosis for failure of a system is an invaluable tool. In this~vork: four wavelet-based methods have been developed for use with DC motors usedin automotive applications that achieve this goal. and filter bank theory isreviewed, as well as the nearest neighbor rule, the Minkomski p nletrics and lineardiscriminant functions.
