Abstract	:	The purpose of this project was to investigate the interaction between adjustablespeed AC drives and a conventional power distribution system. The project wasorganized into three case studies. In the fust one, the behavior of the power distributionsystem with four adjustable speed drives as harmonic sources was studied. The responseof the power distribution system without power capacitors and harmonic filters wasstudied. In the second case, the previous system was analyzed with power capacitorsinstalled to improve the power factor and reduce the voltage drops in the buses of thedistribution system .
