Abstract	:	The Java programming language is achieving greater acceptance inhigh-end embedded systems such as cellphones and PDAs. However, lowendembedded platforms, such as DSPs or microcontrollers, often have nomore than a C compiler, and this prevents Java applications from being runon such systems.
