Abstract : Soils represent the largest carbon reservoir in the terrestrial ecosystem. Most soilorganic carbon (SOC) simulation models emphasize details in soil biogeochemicalprocesses, but pay little attention to aboveground biomass accumulation, whichrepresents a major component of the SOC pool in cropland. In addition, fine spatial scaleand lack of supporting data often limit a model's application.
