Abstract	:	The volume reduction in power converters over the past several decades canchiefly be attributed to increases in switching frequency. It is to be expected that thetrends towards miniaturization will maintain steady pressure to keep this pace ofincreasing switching frequencies of power converters. However certain fundamentallimits in high frequency power conversion are being reached as frequencies are beingpushed deeper into the megahertz range, inhibiting substantial further increases.The work reported in this dissertation is intended to systematically investigate thefundamental frequency limitations, identify some of the solutions for HF/VHF powerconversion and to provide guidelines and tools to optimize the performance of powerconverters by maximizing frequency..,..tested for theQ1 PC1 bus cardBoth these projects mere sofixare des elopment efforts tonards contributing to dlfferentaspects of Roboucs and lZ1echatronics projects m the Controls and Roboucs Group..
