Abstract	:	Thermal expansion (TE) and magnetostriction (MS) measurements have been conducted forGd5(Si,Gel-,)4 with a series of x values to study its critical behavior in the vicinity oftransition temperatures.It was found that the Curie temperature of Gd5(SixGel-x)4 for x - 0.5 is dependent onmagnetic field, direction of change of temperature (Tc on cooling was lower than Tc onheating), purity of Gd starting material,,..tested for theQ1 PC1 bus cardBoth these projects mere sofixare des elopment efforts tonards contributing to dlfferentaspects of Roboucs and lZ1echatronics projects m the Controls and Roboucs Group..
