Abstract	:	A problem of major interest to regional planning organizations, disaster reliefagencies, and the military is the identification and tracking of land tleveloprnentacross large scale regions, and over time. U7e develop an autonornous image analysissystem to understand land development, especially residential and urban b~liltlingorganizations from satellite irnages.We introduce a set of measures based on straight lilies to assess land developiiientlevels in high resolution satellite iiiiages.
