Abstract : 1 Although mysteries of humans are unknown at present, the human brain still has manymysteries. Moreover a major cause of death or handicap in the newborn is cerebralhypoxic-ischaemic injury. Cerebral tissue damage can be seen noninvasively usingultrasound, X-ray CT or Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) imaging techniques onlyafter a few weeks. Near InfraRed Spectroscopy (NIRS) is great an alternative plan and itwas first introduced by Jobsis [1]. Near-infrared spectroscopy is a non-invasivemonitoring technology for monitoring oxygen state in a tissue. Jobsis introduced thistechnology, and showed state of hemoglobin and cytochrome oxidase by absorptionchange. The clinical technology using.
