Abstract	:	Recently the use of Global Positioning System (GPS) signals as opportunisticbistatic radar signals has become increasingly popular in the radar and navigation communitiesfor remotely sensing the Earth's surface. A GPS bistatic radar uses two receptionantennas: one tracking the direct signal from the satellite oriented skyward; theother observing the surface-reected signal oriented toward the earth. In the past, amixture of both application specic integrated circuit (ASIC) based and software receivershave been used, but these require a desktop or laptop computer to operate them.Previous receiver congurations are thus prohibitively large and can not be mounted on.
