Abstract	:	New materials must be developed for MEMS applications to can withstand high operatingtemperatures while still providing the mechanical advantages of electrothermal actuators.Although traditionally fabricated in electroplated nickel, metallic alloys of nickel manganesehave been shown to provide similar operating displacements at lower temperatures and lowervoltages than their nicltel counterparts. This research explores. through simulation andempirical fabrication, the advantages involved in utilizing metallic alloys of nicltel.
