Abstract	:	An Automatic License Plate Recognition (ALPR) System is one kind of IntelligentTransport System. The system's scope in research and development is considerablybroad because of a lot of areas still unexplored. The work has been commercializedsignzjicantly and systems already exist for Chinese, Korean, US and EU license plates.However, little exploration is being done in the plates bearing Arabic script.The thesis addresses the problem of an ALPR system for Saudi Arabian License.
