Abstract	:	candidate for generating electric power. Due to its high efficiency, fast load response,pollution and noise free operation, modularity and cogeneration potential, the fuel cellpower plant (FCPP) shows excellent potential as an alternative source of energy. Themain purpose of this research is to develop an economical operational strategy forenhancing the competitiveness of FCPPs. This research addresses the following issues:the initial installation cost for a proton exchange membrane (PEM) FCPP based onvarying output power requirements; possible PEM fuel cell operational cost (FCOC).
