Abstract	:	The ability to detect and mitigate a fault is critical for electrical drives and ma-chines in applications that require high reliability. In this work, a Permanent MagnetAC drive and machine is examined and the most critical areas are analyzed for reli-ability. An algorithm is provided to determine the reliability of a drive and motor.Remedial designs are also consider for either mitigating a fault or producing a faulttolerant design. An analysis is performed to determine the reliability when remedial.
