Abstract	:	Modeling tlie human vocal tract and taking advantage of redundancy i n himianspeech can achieve greater levels of compression. Speech is modeled as a source-filtermodel, where the filter is constrained to be an all-pole linear filter. This ainouiits toperforming a linear prediction of the next saniple as a weighted sum of past samples.
