Abstract	:	Alloys of iron substituted with non-magnetic gallium (Galfenol) appear promising asmechanically robust actuatorlsensing materials. They offer desirable properties includingtensile strengths and magnetostrictive strains, respectively, on the order of 100 MPa and 100x1 oe6.
