Abstract

This thesis is an attempt to explore the relationship between multiple intelligences level and senior male/female quality of translation of hard sciences texts. Our sample comprised 73 senior female students and 27 senior male students of Khorasgan Azad University, Isfahan. All filed out multiple intelligences inventory included 90 questions and were asked to translate hard sciences texts in which 9 paragraphs were involved. Findings shows that senior female students with high multiple intelligences did not necessarily translate the hard sciences texts well but there was significant relationship between senior male students with high multiple intelligences and quality of translation. Furthermore, there is direct relationship between the senior students' multiple intelligences level and their quality of translation. The research questions were analyzed using SPPS software. It is recommended that English translation studies teachers use the results of this study to discover the individual differences, gender and other psychological features in translation. Almost all translation training centers, people and curriculum authorities can benefit from the findings of this study. Also, it could be handed in the translation students multiple intelligences inventory to estimate their quality of translation. In other words, it can be a great predictor to qualify the students who want to be hired as translator..
