Abstract : The aim of the research study was to explore the effect of recast and metalinguistic corrective feedback on the lexical collocation learning of Iranian EFL learners.The study had a pretest-posttest quasi-experimental design in which a group of 90 Iranian English students were devided into two experimental and one control groups. The design included two experimental groups each including 30 students. The experimental group (I) received recast as the corrective feedback method whenever they made a mistake. Additionally, the experimental group (II) received metalinguistic corrective feedback as their error correction method ,whereas the control group received no corrective feedback of any distinct type . The participants received the treatment for 16 sessions. The participants took a test designed by Shootshtari and Karami (2012) on lexical collocations in the first session of classroom a pretest. The scores from the pretest were analysed to make sure that no difference existed prior to the treatment . Then the two feedback types were introduced. At the end of the experiment, the students were adminestered a posttest. The ANOVA and Tukey post hoc tests were used to analyze the data. The findings indicated that those who recived metalinguistic corrective feedback improved in learning lexical collocation, whereas those in the recast corrective feedback and no feedback groups did not.
