Abstract	:	recorded and then analyzed. For the preference task, 30 male and female participants listened to only one of the same target sentences pronounced by a Persian native speaker and then they were supposed to recognize which was preferred after reading two different contexts. Research findings indicate prosodic influences on negation interpretation. The results also suggested that there was a significant interaction between prosody and negation in Persian. All in all, Persian speakers, it may be said, are sensitive to the shift of focal stress in their interpretation of negation and its interaction with quantifiers. In the production task, 20 male students were asked to read the target contexts silently, and then read the related sentences aloud.
