Abstract : It is generally agreed today that interaction has a significant part in learners' language development (Brown, 2001). Apparently, without some sort of interaction, the achievement of any language learning goal would be farfetched. Teacher's questions are believed to be among the factors which can serve as a strong stimulus for driving learners to interact. This study was done to achieve two aims. Firstly, it aimed at investigating the degree of teacher vs. student centered classroom interaction in the MA courses of three different fields of Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL), General Linguistics (GL), and Translation Studies (TS) at Islamic Azad University- Khorasgan Branch, Isfahan. Secondary, this study was conducted to determine the distribution of two typical types of questions, display and referential, plus their interactive effects. To achieve these aims, two steps were taken. First, three different courses were randomly selected from each field and the second, the sixth, and the thirteen sessions, amounting to 270 minutes of class time, were observed and tape recorded. The taken data were then analyzed based on Brown's Interaction Analysis System (BIAS) and subjected to a Univariate Analysis of Variance, an Analysis of Variance, Chi-Square test, and an Independent Sample test to see if the obtained differences were meaningful. A Post hoc Scheffe test was later conducted to shed more light on the differences. Second, a researcher-made questionnaire was distributed among the student participants to investigate their reactions to and their assessments of the related aspects of the study. The findings obtained in these two stages were later compared to come into an acceptable conclusion. The results indicated that although investigated fields differed from each other in terms of learner/teacher interactions, the differences, except in the case of Responding Behavior, were not statistically significant..
