Abstract	:	A11 radio systems have to be spectrally efficient and cost effective. A cell phone systemshould not inte~ere with other users and must provide a Iong battery life. An indispensableelement of the radio system is the power amplifier. Unfortunately, this component is a majororigin of the distortion in RF signals. Operating a power amplifier in its linear region makesit inefficient. To meet the demand of linearity and efficiency, the self bias power amplifieris designed to offer a linear and an efficient operation at the same time. This thesis presentsthe development and the experimental results of the self biased amplifier. The results showthat the new circuit outperforms the commonly used amplifiers..
