Abstract	:	This thesis is a detailed description of a vision chip used to measure the optical flowfield and its component. The algorithm for the computation is based on the "opticalflow constriiint equation" and a smoothness constraint proposed by Horn. The simu-lation of both the algorithm and the hardware are conducted and the parameters inthis algorithm are discussed in detail. All the processing in this chip is analog and inparallel..
