Abstract	:	Much has been published in recent years on the subject of adaptive notch filtersand seiperal different algorithms have been proposed. A comparison of the existingadaptive notch filtering algorithms found in the published literature is presented.Comparisons are also made to other kequency estimation methods. The issue ofoptimizing the adapti\,e notch filter for real time frequency tracking is also discussed.A new adaptii.e notch filter algorithm proposed by Doraisivami [3 11 is alsore~kived and tested against the other algorithms..
