Abstract	:	A novel leaky-wave antenna operating a t 30 GHz is presented in this thesis. Theproposed antenna is a coplanar waveguide (CPW) fed Linear array of closely-spaced ca-pacitive transverse slots. Wave propagation within periodic media is reviewed and theproperties of leaky-waves and fast-wave guiding structures are examined prior to thedesign. Design equations are developed based on a loaded transmission line model ofthe antenna structure. The antenna design is subsequently refbed through full-wavesimulation- Finally, a test antenna is characterized both experimentally and theoreti-cally in terms of fundamental antenna paraneters. This type of tilted-beam antenna iswell-suit ed for indoor broadband wireless communication systems..
