Abstract	:	The objective of this project is to measure the amount of deflection of amicrocantilever, when it comes in contact with certain chemicals. The motion of themicrocantilever is sensed by reflecting a light beam off its surface.The sensor is designed for the three microcantilevers on one side to be madesensitive to chemicals that cause them to deflect whereas the other three microcantileversare inactive to those chemicals and provide a reference.When the sensitive microcantilevers bend, there is a change in the position ofthose light patches reflecting,.............-....,....-...,..tested for theQ1 PC1 bus cardBoth these projects mere sofixare des elopment efforts tonards contributing to dlfferentaspects of Roboucs and lZ1echatronics projects m the Controls and Roboucs Group..
