Abstract	:	Traffic Management is essential in any network. In this thesis, methods that are widelyused in the implementation of the functions of traffic management, namely trafficcontrol, resource management and congestion control for ATM networks have beenanalyzed. The analysis has been based on achieving the desired quality of service(QoS) and minimizing or eliminating bottlenecks that might occur during traffic flow ina network. In traffic control, the methods that are important in managing traffic havebeen analyzed. One such important method is the connection admission controlmethod, which is extensively used in traffic control and has been analyzed in detail.Another important aspect of traffic management is resource management.
