Abstract : Laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) is an advanced data analysis techniquefor spectral analysis based on the direct measurement of the spectrum of optical emissionfrom a laser-induced plasma. Assignment of different atomic and ionic lines, which aresignatures of a particular element, is the basis of a qualitative identification of the speciespresent in plasma. The relative intensities of these atomic and ionic lines can be usedfor the quantitative determination of the corresponding elements present in different samples.Calibration curve based on absolute intensity is the statistical method of determiningconcentrations of elements in different samples. Since we need an exact knowledge of thesample composition to build the proper calibration curve, this method has some limitationsin the case of samples of unknown composition. The current research is to investigate the.............-....,....-...,..tested for theQ1 PC1 bus cardBoth these projects mere sofixare des elopment efforts tonards contributing to dlfferentaspects of Roboucs and lZ1echatronics projects m the Controls and Roboucs Group..
