Abstract : Wires in aircraft are often decades old. h order to detect the faults in the wirethat are inevitable, Utah State University is developing a method of testing them in situ.The method consists of placing Frequency Domain Reflectometer (FDR), microcontroller,and communication interface into the aircraft connector, making it a "smart connector."The aircraft wires are digital buses, which are unidirectional and bidirectional.
