Abstract : Ammonia oxidation processes are of considerable interest due to their promise ofhigh-yield production of Hz and valuable commodity chemicals such as HCN withrelatively low operating costs. In many ways. these processes are analogous tohydrocarbon oxidation processes. as described in chapter one. and it is with hydroc;irbcmsthat these studies began.Chapter two discusses homogeneous simulations of ethane drhydrogenutionreactions. One of the primary areas of research within our research group has beenethylene synthesis via oxidative ethane dehydrogenation. These reactions can he runautothemally and take place at millisecond contact times.
