Abstract : This dissertation presents a comprehensive implementation of a partialdomainmoment method technique useful for computing electromagnetic radiation and scattering. The basis functions are linearly varying, and some are novel. A new method of joiningwires to surfaces is developed, and the method does not assume that wires areinfinitesimally thin. The technique applies to objects of small to moderate size withdielectric and metallic components. The materials may be arbitrarily shaped providedthey can be adequately modeled with triangles, rings, cylinders, or tetrahedra.Techniques of speeding the impiementation and improving its accuracy are investigatedwith enough success that the matrix solution time dominates the matrix-fiu time for mostproblems. Various sources are investigated including the plane wave, the extended deltagap, the delta gap, and the magnetic frill. The magnetic frill implementation is moreaccurate than conventional implementations.
