Abstract : The objective of this thesis is to contribute to the better understanding of jammedtiming channels. In particular, pure delay jammers with a maximum delay constraint,an average delay constraint. or a maximum buffer size constraint are explored.Two primary classes of waveforms for specifying packet arrivals are considered. Forcontinuous time packet waveforms, there is no lower bound on the spacing betweeninitiations of packet transmissions. For discrete time packet waveforms, time is slottedand a t most one packet arrives in each slot and at most one packet departs in eachslot. Fluid approximations of each of these classes of waveforms are employed to aid inanalysis. Channel capacity is defined for each jammer constraint and waveform class.To better understand the capacity of the jammed timing channel, an information-theoretic game between jammers and inputs is studied.
