Abstract	:	Heat recovery by using desuperheaters in refrigeration / heat pumpsystems in buildings located in the tropics and subtropics hasattracted increasing attention over the recent years. A refrigerant-to-water heat exchanger, inserted between the compressor and thecondenser in a refrigeration system, works as a desuperheater andallows transfer of heat from the refrigerant to the water for servicehot water provision.
